Car vs Pole in Pt Henry rd

26/09/2011 - Operations

On Monday 26th September, 2011, at approx. 08:00 am, South Barwon SES
Volunteers were called to a car accident with persons trapped on Pt Henry rd, in
Moolap

SES Media Liaison Officer Scott Clark said the first of 2 SES Rescue trucks arrived
on scene and were met with a car that had collided with power pole, bringing down
power lines and tearing the vehicle in two.

South Barwon SES Spokesman Scott Clark said “The vehicle has collided side on
with the power pole, resulting in the vehicle being torn in half, and the driver being
ejected.”

“This would have to be one of the most serious accidents I have attended in 14
years with the SES.” Mr Clark said

“The level of destruction was enormous. People just don’t seem to be getting the
message about Road Trauma. SES is again pleading with drivers to slow down and
take care on our roads. No one should have to be subjected to this sort of carnage.”

SES Volunteers remained on scene for about 30 minutes assisting Police with traffic
control.

2 SES Rescue Trucks with 9 SES Volunteers were responded to the incident.
